ANESTHESIA PRACTICE DESCRIPTION
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
7:00am – 5:00pm
Staffing Model:
How many MDA’s? 12 total, 8 working in hospital and 4 in ISC each day
Other OR support Staff? 1 anesthesia tech
Caseload & Clinical:
What types of cases/surgical specialties? General, OB/GYN, neuro (heads and backs), ortho (mix of sono and nerve stim), ENT, urology, healthy peds (2 y.o. and older) and vascular. No cardiac/trauma/complex peds/interventional pain management. 85% Adults / 15% Pediatric
Acuity of patients:
Usually ASA 1-3, occasional 4’s.
Trauma services provided? No.
Patients/cases per day? 3-8
How many total OR’s?
8 OR’s at hospital run 5 days a week. 4 OR’s at surgery center 5 days a week.
Call – There are [2] OB call and OR call. OB call is 24 hr. in house; OR call is 24 hr. on beeper from home after cases for the day are done.
The call frequency is every 6 or 7 days depending in how many we have on vacation. Call is either OR or OB call.
So total in average month 4 or 5 calls, which is a mix of the OR and OB call. Average one weekend call shift over a month. Hope that makes sense.
What times do the weeknight/weekend pager calls run?
7A-7A weekend day, 7A-7A weekday with a 7-5 normal schedule during the day

EMR/EHR:
Meditech for orders and paper for charting.
Medication Management/Digital Pharmacy:
Omnicell for controlled substances

Also how will their time be split between the 2 different sites?
Time spilt between facilities about 70/30 hospital/surgery center. The surgery center is across street from hospital.

BLS/ACLS/PALS
Board Certified – REQUIRED
